PASTOR

Rev. Katherine Pater graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a double major in Political Science and Religious Studies. After receiving her Masters of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, she was ordained to serve a small ecumenical mission in El Salvador. Before coming to Longview Pres, she was the Associate Pastor at Hitchcock Presbyterian Church in Scarsdale, NY. Katherine is also a PhD student studying Practical Theology at Claremont school of Theology, studying the intersection of faith and reproductive justice. She is excited to explore all the amazing hiking trails and beaches that the Pacific Northwest has to offer with her husband, Kyle, and her dogs, Gus and Pippin. Sara (the cat) will probably stay home. 

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

I grew up in Longview, went to college at Seattle Pacific University where I got my BA in Business Administration and Professional Studies. I have experience in a variety of office settings including non-profits, medical office settings, and schools. After college I returned to settle in Longview and met my husband, Reuben. We have 3 kids. In my spare time I am an avid reader of almost any genre and I am a prolific knitter. I have lots of family locally and enjoy getting together to play board games.

Jim Johnston helps keep things running smoothly on Sunday mornings by managing the church’s sound system and Zoom livestreams. His calm presence and steady hands make sure everyone—both in the sanctuary and online—can hear, see, and feel part of worship. Jim enjoys supporting the church’s community in whatever way he can, from setting up microphones to troubleshooting audio.

Mary Winter brings warmth, creativity, and care to every child she meets. With several years of experience supporting early learners, she’s passionate about helping children grow through play, exploration, and kindness. Mary believes in building nurturing connections with families and creating a safe, joyful environment where every child feels valued.
